I hope you have all recovered from Saturday, what a game. I knew we would have a few twists and turns to come this season but I didn’t expect so many in one afternoon, it was nuts. A great game for the neutral and indeed for all supporters but lots to think about for the coaches. At 29-6 and a bonus point in the bag after just 25 minutes we looked as though we could have a very fruitful afternoon but to Watsonians great credit they came roaring back at us. From our point of view we didn’t execute our plan as well as we have done in other games and certainly defensively it wasn’t as good as it can be.
A bonus point win , job done however it did come at some cost. Craig Jackson has broken his collar bone so that’s him out for a while. He's been outstanding for us this season ,hopefully he's a quick healer. We are fortunate to have Jason Baggot and Ally Grieve back training so all things being well they will return this week. Grant Runciman, Ruaridh Knott , Bev and Neil Irvine Hess will all need to be assessed in the coming days and we will cross just our fingers that they will be ok for the big run in that now faces us.
Everything we try to do as a club was summed up on Saturday . We began with players from the 60's/70's and 80's reminiscing at lunch about playing together and touring together. That was followed by the players of today playing their hearts out for the club and to round the day off a great night and a very successful fundraising dinner by the Youth section for their tour to Monaco. .
The Storm continued their undefeated run with a number of players showing they are ready to step into the breach when needed. Take my word they will be as its going to be a really tough run in and we wouldn’t want it to be any other way would way
Well done to everyone and remember it’s a 1.30 start for this really tough all Premiership BT cup tie , all supporters must pay as the gate monies are shared
See you Saturday
