Happy New Year
27 Dec 2017
Christmas has come and gone and 2017 will soon be follow. It's been a good year with our two senior teams only losing one game each within the calendar year. That’s an incredible stat but we all know the one Ist Xv lost the play off final was very sore to take but in some ways we made amends in the cup final 7 days later. Its perhaps then very fitting that our first game of 2018 will once more be against our rivals from the West Coast Ayr. It will be cracker
However we first need to acknowledge our two Christmas fixtures allowed us the opportunity to give the young players of the future important experience and they all did very well. We scored just short of 100 points in total and only gave away 18 . We have an incredible amount of talent within our walls and it's great to see them expressing themselves by playing so well
So in rugby terms we can now officially say goodbye to 2017 and acknowledge it's been a memorable one , so what now lies ahead.
Our next game Ayr,6th January is a very important fixture for a number of reasons. There will be a sporting edge to it because of the postponement last time which is fine but the meeting of two of our top clubs runs deeper than that. It's an opportunity to show that the Premiership is not " unfit for purpose" as it has been described. I urge you to be there and to show that the Premiership has much to offer .
So here we go for 2018 , let's see what it brings as it could be the last as we know it from a Premiership perspective. We have a lot to discuss , to unravel and to decide upon. Let's make the best of the next few days, enjoy what remains of the festive season and see if we can all put on a show on the 6th
Keep in touch just in case we need our frost covers down , all volunteers will be much appreciated
