STILL GAME

07 Dec 2017

A good win last week especially with a much changed squad. The Storm result especially highlighted the strength in depth at the club. With 6 changes to the 1sts and some injuries they had around 10 changes in total so a great result for them and a great weekend for the club.

Talking of great weekends, it's been a while since I was let out so it seemed a great idea to stay in Edinburgh and enjoy a few beers with rugby friends. Well times have changed it was like being in an episode of STILL GAME. Four amigos head off to the bus stop full of excitement  why you ask, well not for the reasons you may think. Three were using  bus passes for the first time and thought it was hilarious that I had to pay £1.60 . Wow it’s a double Decker, on we get, top deck back seat, perfect. Well the last time I was in the back seat of a service bus with a "friend" was probably 45 years ago and the conversation certainly didn’t focus on when we could all get the heating allowance. I'm glad to say this time I totally missed out as they have it and im far too young. We also need to consider if indeed we are ever allowed out again how long it takes to  get from there to the door especially if we don’t want to miss the stop. We even managed to miss the 11pm train. Why you ask, up to no good you think, eh no we simply failed to take into account one gentleman needs a new hip. We could have left him and it did cross our minds but Burger King made us think again.. Changed days indeed. I would never ever dream of naming those involved but Bill. Mike and Coxy I promise I will bring a bus pass next time and can we sit downstairs please

Back to business with Ayr this week, full of thoughts of revenge after taking Hawks apart last week. It will be a very tough ask but hopefully we will have some players back  as it will be a very physical game.  They are in second place and  will not want to fall further behind so I think it will be close.

Good Luck to Ross McCann and Sam Pequeur with the Sevens in South Africa.
