Over One Hundred Young Players Celebrate the Past Season

15 Jun 2018

As the partnership between Melrose Rugby and Earlston High school continues to grow year on year over 100 young rugby players, plus coaches and guests packed into The Greenyards to celebrate the hard work, enjoyment and successes of the last year.

Mr (Nick) Alston led proceedings for the evening with guest speaker, 1XV coach, Robert (Bob) Chrystie. Bob spoke to the youngsters about the importance of adopting the right attitude towards their training and games.

Individual year group coaches introduced each groups award giving a reflection on the season before Bob Chrystie and Nick Beavon, 1XV player, presented the boys awards and Lucy Brown, Women and Girls Development Officer for the Borders, and Lisa Thomson, Scotland International, presented the girls awards.

Congratulations to all the players, coaches and parents for a great youth rugby season!
