HUNDRED’S TAKE PART IN DODDIE5’S RIDE
Melrose rugby played host to the Doddie5's Ride yesterday on possibly one of the wettest days of the year. However, the weather did not deter hundreds of cyclists in participating in the fundraising event for the My Name5’s Doddie Foundation, the charity raising funds to aid the research into the causes and treatment of Motor Neurone Disease (MND).
The event offered two options of distances for cyclists. The Doddie Challenge was a 11-mile ride taking in Tweedbank out to Selkirk and back to the rugby club base. Meanwhile those more adventurous types could opt for the Doddie Classic, a 60-mile route which took in the countryside around Earlston, Kelso, Jedburgh and Hawick before returning to Melrose.
Congratulations to everyone who took part, the volunteers and supporters who have all done their bit to fight the MND battle.
