Melrose Business Club
The Greenyards, home to Melrose Rugby Limited and birthplace of Seven-a-side rugby are set to host the new Melrose Business Club. We look forward to welcoming business folk from the Borders, the Lothians and Edinburgh and to the exchange of information and bonhomie in equal proportions.
We hope that you will accept the invitation to come and meet other business folk, network and discuss topics of interest in an informal setting. Attendees will be asked to approach each other on the basis of “what can I do for you?” rather than on the basis of “what can I get from you?” and blatant hard sell by anyone present will be actively discouraged.
The inaugural meeting is on Wednesday 19 September 2018 starting at 6.30pm when we are fortunate to be joined by Dr Susan Brown, Senior Lecturer in the School of Applied Science, Edinburgh Napier University, who is currently leading on Partnerships with Super Six Franchises and on Dual Career Policy as well as Katharine Mathison, Vocational Manager, The Business Development Unit of Borders College.
These two guest speakers will discuss the subject of “Academia and Business, Working Together”.
They will touch on topics such as apprenticeships, research, internships and collaborations will be covered and questions from the audience will be welcome.
Supported by The Royal Bank of Scotland, Edinburgh Napier University, Borders College and the Borders Chamber of Commerce, The Melrose Business Club will be joined by Network Borders members too and provides an informal setting for Borders business people to hear from influential and knowledgeable speakers and network with like-minded individuals.
Attendance is free but we require places to be booked for catering purposes. To book email firstname.lastname@example.org
Tea and coffee will be available at a modest charge. The bar will be open after the meeting for attendees to continue their chats.
Come along, expand your business networks and meet new friends and old.
