All To Play For

06 Mar 2017

Well that’s settled - we really do have everything to play for in the next few weeks. We have two massive home games. On the 25th we host Stirling County in the BT Cup Semi-Final, and on the 1st of April we host a Premiership Play-Off - opposition to be confirmed depending on the results from this Saturday’s ties - ourselves against Stirling County at Bridgehaugh deciding whether we finish the league first or second and Currie needing a bonus point victory against Boroughmuir to oust Heriots from 4th spot.

Against Heriots we played exceptionally well in the first half despite their wonderfully crafted first try from the line out giving them an initial edge. We struck right back with some coruscating back play to score wide out and making the difficult conversion just gave us the confidence to play some complete rugby, scoring four tries in the first half.

Sadly the Wasps came out on the losing side against a determined Berwick team, and the Ladies and the U-16s had their fixtures cancelled. The S1-S3s had a successful day against Glasgow Hawks yesterday though.

With all this and the sevens happening, it is a very busy time at the club just now, and I just want to thank all the volunteers that come and help out in making the club such a success.
