Weekly Bulletin 13/3/24

Good Afternoon All!
Hope everyone had a great weekend enjoying rugby despite the loss in Rome! There was a huge representation from Melrose in the Eternal City – hope everyone managed to stay dry & had a brilliant time! Talking of Rome, massive congratulations to Ben Weir and his team ‘The International Roaming Bundle’ for making it all the way to Rome via pedal power – simply amazing! Ben & his girlfriend Liv have raised well over their target of £5,555. There is still time to sponsor them – just search out ‘theinternationalroamingbundle’ on Instagram and follow the link to their just giving page.
Closer to home the 1XV were in action on Friday night. They headed to the Gytes at Peebles & came home with a 22 – 22 draw. To read Iain’s match report CLICK HERE
On Saturday the U18 Wasps travelled to Alnwick – it was a fairly close match but unfortunately Alnwick took the win 36 – 29.
Better news for the U16 Wasps who played Dunbar last night in the East Youth Cup Semi-final at the Greenyards – they took the win with a score of 40 – 31, next up for them is the Currie Chieftans Boys (AWAY) at 2pm on 23/3/24 – Best of luck to the Wasps!
This Saturday the 1XV are heading to Glasgow Accies – they have an early kick off at 12pm, allowing them to get back to watch the Ireland v Scotland game!
What else is happening at the club this week….well, on Friday night there is a fundraising quiz for the P4 tour to Alnwick – I think there are still a few spaces, so if you fancy it follow the link! http://tinyurl.com/4ppdh34b

Wales v Italy kicks off at 2:15pm
The main event…Ireland v Scotland is at 4:45pm
And finally, France v England kicks off at 8pm.
Doors will open from 1:45pm
International Call ups…
Big congratulations to two players who began their Rugby careers here at the club – Emily Love & Ellie Moffat have both been selected for Scotland U18 Women. A huge achievement for them both!
That’s all for this week, hope to see you at the club over the weekend!
Warm wishes
