YOUTH NEWS: U18 WASPS ARE HEADING TO ROSSLYN PARK 7s

Rosslyn Park 7s | The World’s largest school rugby tournament

Melrose Rugby are delighted to announce that our u18 Wasps, through Earlston High School, have successfully entered the 2025 u18s Vase at Rosslyn Park 7s. Beginning in 1939, the Rosslyn Park National Schools Sevens has become the world's largest school rugby tournament with over 10,000 boys and girls aged 11 - 18 competing annually.

The tournament is held on Monday 24th & Tuesday 25th March 2025, with matches played at the Richardson Evans Memorial pitches, situated South West of London. We are very excited to be sending a team to compete in the prestigious competition and it will be a great opportunity for our players to showcase their skills on a national stage, competing against some of the best schools in Britain.

Head of Youth Rugby, Iain Chisholm sees this an exciting step for our Youth Section:

“Entering Rosslyn Park is an exciting milestone in our long-term vision for the Youth Section. It’s an opportunity for the Wasps to challenge themselves in a new environment against new opposition, and what better place to do it than at the world’s largest youth 7s competition. I have no doubts it will be a huge test for the boys, but I’m so excited to see how they apply themselves and I’m confident they’ll do Melrose Rugby proud.”

The u18 Wasps have been drawn in Group C of the Vase competition, along with Mount St Mary’s College from Sheffield, Deans Close School from Cheltenham and Merchant Taylors School, Northwood near Watford.

We will be sharing more details in the run up to the event, so stay tuned for further information. To find out more about the Rosslyn Park 7s, head to their website by clicking here.
