Melrose Rugby Bulletin 16/1/25
Afternoon All!
Hope everyone is having a good week so far! Unfortunately, last weekend didn’t contain too much rugby, but we’re hoping to make up for it this weekend! We start with a run out for the Storm – fist match for them since early December. They take on Peebles with a 7:30pm kick off, no charge for entry & the boys would certainly appreciate some support! Weather forecast is dry & fairly mild!
Saturday the 1XV head to Philiphaugh to take on Selkirk. It’s a 3pm kick-off, so let’s see if we can fill the stand with black & yellow!! So far the weather is looking good, 5/6°c with sunny intervals!
Here is the full schedule through the age groups for this weekend:
Rescheduled Games
We have a couple of games rescheduled from earlier in the season – the Peebles Border League game is now on Friday 31st at 7:30pm. Last weekends postponed game against Musselburgh will now happen on Saturday 29th March, you can cut out our newly updated schedule and stick it on your fridge to keep you right!!
Supporter Tiles
We’re planning on putting in the order for Supporter Tiles at the end of the month – so if you’re thinking about buying one, please do follow the link before Friday 31st! They cost £100 & make a great gift - a fabulous way to support the club!

What is Doddie Aid?
Every January we start the year with a spring in our step as we gear up to move a bit more. Whether we want to get in shape, shake off the winter blues or just enjoy more time outside - more movement is our goal. While we’re at it, why not make a difference and do some good for others too and join Doddie Aid!
Doddie Aid is a virtual mass-participation exercise event which raises funds for @myname5doddie, who invest in research to find meaningful treatments for motor neuron disease (MND) and, one day, a cure.
Founded by former Scotland captain Rob Wainwright, Doddie Aid started on 1 January, runs for 5 weeks, and all participants receive a free snood for taking part. Any exercise counts, so what are you waiting for? Join Doddie Aid today!
Head to https://doddieaid.com to sign up
We’re planning to mark the event here at the club at the Glasgow Hawks game on the 25th January, stay tuned for more details coming soon!

More details of timings to follow however, massive thank you to all those that have bought tickets which has helped raise over £500 for the club 👍
🟡⚫️6 Nations' Prediction Cards 2025🟡⚫️
Our annual youth fundraiser is back!!
Each age group should now have received your envelopes with prediction cards and information letter (if not, check in with your lead coach) so they can be distributed to kids / parents / coaches etc.) before Christmas.
Put simply, the more cards we sell, the more money we'll have to buy new kit so please make every effort to push these to your age group and get each player / coach / parent etc. to sell their initial allocation of 10 prediction cards or ask them to make the equivalent donation to the same value as any unsold cards (if you are able to). Any unsold cards should be offered to other members of your age group / other age groups / members or failing which returned to the office so we can offer them for sale.
There are a few spare envelopes in the 1877 Bar and Ned Haig for those that require them.
Thank you in advance for your support 🐝
