Melrose Rugby Bulletin 13/11/24
Evening All –
Hope everyone has recovered from the weekend’s fun! It sound's like the Ex-Players & Supporters Day was a great success - good food, fantastic company, stories & even a song! Hope everyone had fun on the mechanical bull, glad to hear there were no injuries!! The Rugby was pretty positive too - a good weekend for the two senior teams, but not so great for the Wasps ☹
Last week’s Rugby
First up was the Storm on Friday night, they took on Peebles Red AWAY & came away with a 12-21 win.
Saturday saw the 1XV take to the Greenyards as we welcomed Edinburgh Accies – a good result for us, taking the win 30 -19, solidifying our 5th position in the Premiership. A great match to celebrate Bruce Colvine’s 250th game! Struan Hutchison was named Eclectic Coffee Man of the Match, the Offside Line named Jack Dobie as their Man of the Match, he narrowly missed out on being named to the Offside Line Dream Team of the Week. We did have one player who made the grade…that honour goes to Captain, Angus Runciman – Congratulations to all of them.

Congratulations to Noah & Isaac who were our P7 Mascots. The mascots are sponsored by the George Crawford Legacy Trust - so a big thank you to them!
The U18 Wasps had a pretty torrid time at Gala & the U16 Wasps came away the wrong side of a 24-36 score. The U15s had a successful trip to Peebles & came away with a 40-37 win. The U14s also got the win at Peebles and the U13s came away with a draw! So a pretty good day all in all for the junior members of the club.
This week’s matches…
