Melrose Rugby Bulletin 7/8/24

The winning Melrose Squad at Peebles 7s on Saturday 3rd August

What a busy week it’s been down here at the Greenyards! We’ve had HUNDREDS of kids here for Pre-season Rugby Camps – 138 of them here on Tuesday! Today was pretty exciting as we had some Edinburgh Rugby players  join in the coaching, a big thank you to former Melrose players Ross McCann (who received his first full Scotland Caop against Canada last month in Ottawa) & Harri Morris as well as world’s tallest rugby player, Rob Carmichael (he’s 6ft 11 inches in case you’re curious!) Still 2 more days to go of what’s been, a really successful camp. The team will be back in October to do it all again! So watch out for Camp sign up coming soon.

It very much feels like we’re back in full swing with rugby this week. We had a great weekend at Peebles 7s with our first tournament & win of the season – a great way to start King of the 7s – both Wasps teams had a good day out too - a strong start to their season. The 1XV are off to Musselburgh for a friendly on Saturday, so good luck to them – it’s a 3pm kick off if you fancy showing your support!

In on Thursday & Friday morning (out from noon) In on Monday & Wednesday morning out in the afternoon & out on Tuesday, hopefully back to normal on for Thursday & Friday!

Talking of membership, we realise our members and others are interested in seeing where money comes from & where it goes at the Club! With that in mind we’ve prepared a graphic that illustrates where funding for the club is generated and how these funds are spent:
