Melrose Rugby Bulletin 9/5/24

Hope you’re all enjoying the sunshine! It will be a nice change for the boys to be training on a warm sunny night for once!

Last weekend provided a great weekend of rugby – we headed off to Kelso on Saturday (after returning last year's Cup) we got to bring it home again! Congratulations to the team on a great day of Rugby. We took on Kelso in the final and came away with a 24-15 win. To see the rest of Saturday’s scores CLICK HERE

One day of Sevens wasn’t enough this weekend, Sunday saw the day dawn on the mighty Earlston 7s – it was close…but we were pipped to the win by The Auld Stars – it was very tight with the Auld Stars winning 31-28. To see the rest of Sunday’s scores CLICK HERE

We’re still in the running for Kings of the Sevens with the Selkirk & Jed tournaments still to go…we’re currently on 42 points with 2 wins running second to Kelso on 47 points with 3 wins. Gala are currently 3rd with 38 points and 1 win. All the best to the boys on Saturday at Selkirk - #melroserugby

Saturday was a VERY busy day at the club, it was the annual Crichton Cup - it sounds like it was a brilliant day - so much hard work was put in by the youth committee to make it a success, there was a BBQ, tombola, tuck shop and just masses of organising! Thank you to everyone who took part and made it what it was - we'll have a full report and photos in the next edition of The Rose.

After the Crichton it was the turn of the big boys! The Knights were at home against Watsonians - it didn't go our way with the final score - Southern Knights 14  Watsonians 24. To read the match report CLICK HERE.

The Under 12s are  back from their trip to Italy – a great time was had by all – a fantastic experience!

We’ve got more international touring this weekend! The P4’s are off to England! They are hopping over the border to Morpeth! They’ve had a quiz night and done lots of fundraising – Have a great time everyone, Best of luck to the coaches too!

Reminder of meeting on Tuesday

Just a quick reminder about Tuesday night's meeting, it’s at 6:30pm at the club. The presentation will be repeated on Tuesday 21st also at 6:30pm. If you can let me know (if you haven’t already) which date works for you, that would be great!
